It’s that time of year again, the time when teenagers all over the country walk across the stage (or gymnasium floor) and toss the tassel over to the left side. Family calendars fill up quickly with graduation parties. Checks are written and cashed. Maybe there is even a graduation in your family, your son or daughter celebrating with friends and family, saying goodbyes and enjoying their last summer before the semester starts in the fall.

And when that happens, you might want to send them off. A sort of college readiness box, or maybe even a mid-term care package(with Osana Soap of Course!). We’ve compiled a list of some possible goodies that you might want to consider sending your grad’s way, and all with a mind toward even more giving. We love companies that are using their platforms to make an impact in the world.

Companies That Give Back

Harry’s: Because Harry’s “gives a shave,” they created the 1 + 1 program: They donate 1% of their time and net revenue (no maximum cap) to City Year, an education-focused nonprofit organization. With Harry’s, you can keep your favorite college student clean-shaved (or, more precisely, you can give him that opportunity, even though your grad may not be lathering up all that often.)

Charity:Water: With Charity:Water, you can purchase a range of products that will equip your recent high school graduate for what lies ahead. Ranging from T-shirts to water bottles, coffee mugs to a bicycle (seriously, check it out), they have what your college freshman may find themselves wanting on campus come fall.

State Bags: With an impressive range of products, designs, and uses, State Bags exists to serve all carrying needs. Plus, with the purchase of every bag (backpacks, totes, and more), State delivers (by hand) a backpack loaded with essential classroom tools to an American child in need.

LifeStraw: For the adventurous collegian there is the namesake – the LifeStraw. LifeStraw is a water filtration system (straw) that enables them to drink safely drink contaminated water. Plus, for every LifeStraw purchased a child in a developing country receives safe drinking water for a year.

Thread Experiment: It was the first thing we checked and yes, they do sell XL Twin sheet sets. Thread Experiment is the bedding solution for men (though of course anyone can shop there, and sleep comfortably on their sheets). From solids to polka dots, sheets to duvets, Thread Experiment has it all. And best of all, for every full set of bedding purchased, Thread Experiment will give one full set of bedding to a homeless shelter or other qualifying housing charity.
